$8,000 HomeBuyer Cash Stimulus Is Back BUT Time Is Ticking!
The $8,000 Homebuyer Cash Stimulus Is Back... It passed in a Senate vote of 98-0 on 11-5-2009. It extends and expands the current stimulus program. Under the new program, first-time buyers ( have not owned in past 3 years must contract for a home by 4/30/2010 and close on that property by 6/30/2010 to claim the $8,000 HomeBuyer Cash (upto 10% of purchase price). It also expands the stimulus to NON First-time buyers who have owned a home as their principal residence for 5 of the last 8 years. Qualified NON first-time homeowners may claim upto $6,500 HomeBuyer Cash when they purchase a primary residence during the program. Allowable income to qualify for the program has also been increased.
A few other points include...
1) Does Not have to be re-paid.
2) 1st-time buyers are those who haven't owned in 3 years.
3) Qualified NON first-time are those who have owned a primary residence during the past 5 of 8 years.
4) Must contract by 4/30/2010 and close by 6/30/2010.
There are income and holding restrictions associated with this credit.
